Submitting samples from third countries

For submitting samples of animal by-products and pathogens from third countries an import permit is needed. This permit is provided to Royal GD by the Dutch Government and allows us to receive samples for all animal species. However, we still have to comply with some mandatory requirements.

One of these requirements is that the import of the consignment must take place by way of airplane through border inspection post Amsterdam Schiphol airport. At arrival at Amsterdam Schiphol airport each consignment needs to be inspected by an official veterinarian of the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority and needs to be accompanied by a copy of the import permit. When this import procedure is not respected, GD is not allowed to accept and process the samples. There will be no possibility of returning or collecting these samples as GD is obliged to destroy these samples.

Therefore always contact us in advance so we can provide you with the relevant information on our import procedure and how to submit your samples.
