‘Kukua na kuku’: Together we are stronger

7/15/2021:

Collaboration is important to Royal GD, both in the Netherlands and abroad. We therefore regularly head over the borders and enter into cooperations. Sharing know-how and expertise is key. So too in the project titled ‘Kukua na kuku’, which translates as ‘growing up with chickens’. In this project, GD is training veterinarians all around Tanzania.

Tanzania has a growing poultry sector, but with a need for additional expertise for further development. We have therefore set up a demonstration and training farm in Moshi, where veterinarians can be trained. We provide them with the most important basic knowledge, which they in turn can pass on to other veterinarians. The purpose of this three-year project is to reinforce the entire chain, to improve the efficiency and quality of production and to increase demand for poultry products.

This is not the first country in which GD is involved in such a project, as we also joined forces with external parties in an umbrella project in, for example, Ethiopia. And so we work across the border, in developing countries, to improve animal health.
