Post-academic education on E. coli in poultry

11/17/2021:

Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) may infect any type of chicken in all types of poultry production. Infection results in colibacillosis, a disease of major clinical and economic importance.

The problems with this pathogen that the poultry industry is facing, come from resistance to antibacterial drugs, an apparent increase of virulence, and the ever-increasing productive potential of chickens rendering the birds more susceptible.

For professionals working in the poultry industry who want to learn more about tackling these problems, Royal GD and the faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht, the Netherlands, are offering a 4-week online module on E.coli in poultry. This is the third module of the international postgraduate course Poultry Health Science and it focuses on the pathogenesis of colibacillosis with attention for important issues for commercial poultry.

The module Escherichia coli’ starts on January 17, 2022 and takes place online.
