Highlights report Cattle: Cutaneous botryomycosis months after a caesarean section

8/30/2024: 

A case of a cow that had undergone a caesarean section in the summer of 2023 was reported to the GD Livestock Desk in the first quarter of 2024. After an apparently normal recovery, the cow showed signs of a pus-like infection at the former caesarean incision site about six months after the caesarean. On the advice of the vet, further tests were carried out, including histological and bacteriological examination. Tissue examination was suggestive of botryomycosis. Read the full case study
